Concealed Carry

Concealed Carry Applications is a course for the well-rounded concealed carrier.  It is a comprehensive 9 hour class designed to expose the student to the fundamentals of carrying and fighting with a concealed handgun as well as the basics of tactical medical care as they relate to everyday carry. Tourniquet use and the building of an everyday carry medical kit will be covered.  This is a skill building course and incorporates courses of fire drawn from real world situations.  The student will be expected to be proficient in the basic operation of their weapon and be able to demonstrate an understanding of basic firearms safety.
This course will cover the following​
  • Proper grip and stance
  • Trigger control and sight management
  • Recoil management and the standard response
  • Multiple targets
  • Presentation from concealment
  • Reloads from concealment
  • Concealed carry strategies and practical scenarios
  • Firearm and equipment selection
  • Situational awareness and conflict avoidance
  • Building a personal medical kit
  • Tourniquet use and application
  • Self and buddy aid

The student will need the following
  • Heavy duty handgun
  • 400 rounds of practice ammunition (round counts can be adjusted as needed)
  • Three magazines or speedloaders minimum
  • Belt mounted concealment holster - outside or inside waistband (no pocket, ankle, or shoulder holsters)
  • Gun belt and magazine / speedloader pouch
  • Cover garment (closed or open front)
  • Hearing and wrap around eye protection
  • Hat, sunscreen, and full coverage shirts and shoes (no tank tops, low cut shirts, sandals or flip flops)
  • Rain gear for inclement weather
  • Med kit/ IFAK if available


Students should bring the weapon and holster that they actually use for self defense. A service size handgun in 9mm caliber or larger is recommended.
