The Defensive Training Group was formed in 2007 and is based at the Gainesville Target Range in Gainesville, FL (Map). One of the primary goals of DTG is to offer quality, practical firearms instruction to first time and novice shooters. DTG’s primary instructors have over thirty years combined teaching experience, a considerable portion of which has been with beginners. DTG offers the Basics of Pistol Shooting Course which is specifically geared towards new shooters and which meets and exceeds the requirements to obtain a Florida Concealed Weapons Permit. This course is a combination of interactive classroom instruction and practical range exercises. DTG can also offer individual and Women only instruction.
