NVG (Night Vision) Seminar

NVG Seminar is a 4 hour course designed to explore and discuss techniques utilizing night vision devices and related equipment.  Students will have the opportunity to properly practice these skills in a controlled live fire environment.  This course is conducted during evening hours and includes a night shoot. This course has a pre-requisite: Reactive Carbine Fundamentals or equivalent training is required.
This course will cover the following
  • The physiology of night fighting
  • IR vs White Light
  • Carbine/ Helmet setup
  • Zero considerations (Parallel vs Converging)
  • Active and passive aiming techniques
  • Carbine manipulations under NVGs
  • Live fire under NVGs
Picture
Any carbine is acceptable but the class is geared primarily around an AR type rifle in 5.56mm or 300 Blackout. NVGs/ NODs and IR sighting system for the longgun are required.

The student will need the following
  • Carbine with sling and IR sighting system
  • Night Vision (single or dual tubes, head or weapon mount)
  • 200 rounds of practice ammunition (round counts can be adjusted as needed)
  • Three carbine magazines minimum with pouches
  • Handheld flashlight
  • Hearing and wrap around eye protection
  • Hat and full coverage shirts and shoes (no tank tops, low cut shirts, sandals or flip flops)
  • Knee and elbow pads are optional
  • Rain gear for inclement weather
